Required: CPA/JD & Current public accounting experience in a top 100 CPA Firm
�Perform Estate planning for High Net Worth individuals, including family succession planning.
�Prepare estate and trust income tax returns and gift tax returns
�Research Federal and State estate and federal income tax issues
�Prepare spreadsheet analysis for presenting estate planning ideas
�Work could expand into international estate planning issues and issues confronting resident and nonresident aliens.
�Travel between offices in NJ & midtown NYC
Requirements:
�4 to 5 years experience in the Trust and Estates area
�Understanding of Federal estate taxes, NJ estate and Inheritance taxes
�Understanding of federal income tax issues
�Working knowledge of estate planning issues and techniques
�Understanding of trust and will provisions
�Understanding of generation skipping taxes and planning desired
�Understanding of the Uniform Probate Code a plus
�Strong research and writing skills

Overview: A CPA firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its Trust and Estates practice.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Manager – Trusts and Estates is responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely review and preparation of all clients’ filing of estate, gift, individual and fiduciary tax returns as well as judicial accountings.
· Review estate fiduciary income tax returns along with the decedent’s final individual income tax return. · Analyze estate planning documents including wills, codicils and trust instruments to determine the proper treatment of assets and liabilities for tax purposes.
· Review accounting transactions, disbursements and receipts to principal and income accounts to ensure proper treatment for judicial accountings.
· Develop post mortem tax-saving strategies for the estate accounts. · Research any tax situation that could affect the management of their accounts. · Engage in special projects tax accounting and consulting.
· Keep abreast of tax changes and issues that could affect our clients.
